you start a lot of the sentences with “gregory”, you should replace some with “he” instead, i hate it when authors do that it also makes the story a pain to read.
besides that, i think you have good ideas and should keep going! :)

What you have written is ordinary day-to-day living with nothing spectacular or impressive to read.

Further, the only character in much of your story is Gregory so we know who is going through a mundane day of non-excitement until he reaches the convenience store (not capitalized).

Last, brush up on the proper use of punctuation, particularly with ending question marks or exclamation points when a long unnecessary tag follows. You should place a comma before the ending quotation mark in this case.

Go back and edit what you have written, rid yourself of unnecessary filling and inject something out of the ordinary.

I suggest you pick up a copy of Strunk and White’s “The Elements of Style.” It’s in pocketbook size and well worth the $ 7.50 to acquire it.
