I have this teacher who is kind of mean. Shes my science teacher, but shes not my homeroom teacher.
One time I was asked to answer a question and I got it wrong, and she said it was so wrong a blind man could see it, which really offended me because 1. Science isn’t really my best subject and 2. I’m on academic team, so I feel I should have gotten it right. Also because it was just plain rude.
Then one day at locker break my friend playfully hit another girl and the teacher started yelling at her until she cried.
And the other day a girl called me and my friends goody-goodies and stuff and I got really mad. I also suffer from light anxiety attacks every now and then. So I got this little theory that if bubblegum makes my mouth feel fresh, then maybe I would breathe better if I had an attack. I couldn’t find any information about it at all on the internet so I decided to just try it. I stuck the gum to the roof of my mouth and didn’t really chew it. Anyway the girl calling me a goody goody doesn’t really fit into this, except it encouraged me to chew the gum. I know it was kind of stupid because its against school rules but I was going to dispose of it in the trash can.
Anyway I was worrying about something so I was just swinging my foot back and forth a little and the teacher told me to stop so I apoligized to her, and the gum fell from the roof of my mouth to my tounge and she saw it, and she told me that I would have to scrape gum out from under her tables (basically I would have a spoon and a plastic bag and dig at the gum). Her tables are kind of low and my legs are really long so I don’t know how thats going to work out. I know it was wrong of me to do it but I wasn’t smacking it in class and I was going to throw it in the trash can after that class (because we had lunch as soon as we got in the next class) so I don’t really think I should have to scrap the gum.

So thank you for reading my story… but the real questions are: 1. How can I deal with her in the future, and 2. Any tips on scraping gum??
Thanks for all the answers so far :)
I talked to my mom about her and she said that if the teacher said anything else rude to me, then she would tell the principal.
Shes a new teacher at my school… I have a friend from a different school who knows her and she dislikes her also…
Sadly the tables are huge wooden tables :(
So they cannot be turned over easily.
Also, if you have any adivce on how to deal with teasin?
I sit by one boy, named Joe and he said “It would be so cool if everyone in the classroom helped you scrape the gum off the tables”, I think he meant that in a good way.
But another boy named Blake kept going “Teacher (I don’t want to say her real name), she didn’t scrape the gum!” realllly loud.

But thanks for your answers!
Itsjustme – A few kids came up to me and teased me about it and said that the question was easy (it was, it was about atoms or something, I think) and said that academic team people should be smart but I think that their just jealous because they didn’t make it.
Sorry, I disagree with you, I think I should be on it. :)

Your last question made me laugh. :)

I think that if you think it’s a serious concern, then you should tell your parents and ask them to talk to the principal. If it was me, I would do that because I think that is a little harsh of her.

talk to the principal and see if you can change classes. your teacher sounds like she is having pms 24/7.

  4. finikki says:

Turn the desk on its side and sit on the floor to scrape so you’re not squatting down trying to look under the desk.

Go to your counselor or principal, or talk to your parents about your problems with her.

You talk to the teacher and tell her about the reason you were chewing gum and probably she will understand. I use to have a teacher like that, what I did was make everything exactly right, it was kinda hard because she was into me a lot. Tell your mom if she can give you advice on how to not get in trouble in that class. Also let her know what you were doing chewing gum in class and maybe she can write you a note you can take to the teacher. I agree that there is no reason why you should scrape gum. If none of the things work, when you go to scrape gum act as if you are doing it but you are not also something that sometimes work is if you take a bag from home of chewed gum and trade it when the teacher is not looking. If you really think about it you don’t really need to do all of it is not like she can keep you for ever and if she does cool cause you don’t have to go to class . lol. Good luck girl

I think you should talk to your guidance counselor… She/he might be able to help you out. And talk to your parents tell them what she is doing and how she is treating other kids. 2 years ago in 8th (im in 10th now) but I still still remember, math wasn’t never me greatest subject, well I was absent one day when a new lesson was taught, the next day my teacher asks me a question and I didn’t know, and she was really mean about and i dnt exactly remember what she said but something like I don’t pay attention. I know she said something that really made me mad so I had my dad call my school, and she got in trouble, and I didn’t have anymore problems with her. So you should definitely tell a parent. Or if you want try to talk to this teacher of yours,I get anxiety attacks too so I know how hard it is, so tell her your situation and try to be as nice as possible, let her know the gum thing was an accident and why you were even chewing gum. And if you still have to scape up gum try using some soap to soften it up and see if she has any alcohol you can use to make the gum more wet and easier to take off… GOOD LUCK!!!

After finally getting through this lengthy question???? I have come to the dicision that it is you and not the teacher causing the problems. If you behave yourself while in her class or in school things like this won’t happen! BTW, what’s up with the BS that just because you’re on the ‘academic team” you should get it right?!!! Did you ever think that perhaps you shouldn’t be on the academic team, at all?!

your teacher cannot make u touch someone eles gum u do not have to do it. she can get in trouble. cause it is nasty. and u could get sick try taking i to your princable..

  10. Yankees Fan says:

No, your teacher can’t get in trouble for making you do it.

And your teacher was right to get onto that girl for hitting. You’re not supposed to hit each other. It’s as simple as that.

It doesn’t matter that you weren’t smacking it, and that you were going to through it away in the garbage. Rules are rules.

Also, she shouldn’t have said that remark about a blind man, but seriously? You’re on the academic team so it should have been right? You weren’t serious, were you? You being who you are doesn’t change science.

I don’t think your teacher is really doing anything wrong.

She may be a little rude, but you sound pretty rude yourself.

It sounds to me like you’re used to have all the teachers like you, and now one doesn’t.

You’re not going to be liked by every teacher.

So, try to behave a little better in her class, and she’ll probably like you more.
