Q&A: Does my pothos want to be trimmed?
Posted by admin in Question & Answers, tags: pothos, trimmed, WantQuestion by misslabeled: Does my pothos want to be trimmed?
I rescued this scraggly little scrap of pothos from the lady’s room where I work. It had probably three tiny leaves and a ball of root left in a plastic cup. Fast forward two years and the thing is taking over the kitchen! It has a 9-inch bowl, is bushy, and has about 6 tendrils over six feet in length reaching across the floor. It’s like “Day of the Triffids” in there.
Recently, the leaves in the centers of the tendrils have been dying off. It’s still putting out new growth at the ends, but everything in the middle is falling off. Is it asking me to trim it back? I feel bad cutting it off when there are new, healthy leaves on the ends, but I don”t know what’s best. Advice?

A haircut will not hurt your pothos, and it would likely look better.
Trim twice; healthy ends to root new plants, leafless middle to compost or throw away.
