I want to give my sister in law a decent gift for her wedding and have decided on cash. I was told by her parents that they haven’t alotted a lot of money for their honeymoon and from past experience money can severly limit the amount of fun you can have. I also want to prevent them from being “responsible” with the money and just blow it having some fun. Checks are out because she’s have to deposit it and use it when they get back (after 7 days of clearing for an out of state check) Gift cards tend to charge an enormous amount of fees and have maximum amount. For example I’m hoping to scrap up $1k for her but I’d have to grab 5 $200 cards with a min $5 fee for each of them. Not to…. Click Here to Read More

good friend of mine is argueing world views with me – we’re having fun with it – but I need some help countering this argument – thanks in advance his last included the following statement: “Put a million pieces of scrap metal, plastic and rubber in a pile and it will become a 747 huh? That is a ridiculous example isn’t it. Almost as ridiculous as saying that if you put all the ingredients for life (that is without even discussing where all those ingredients came from in the first place!!!) in giant bowl called the universe, that given enough time the most complex organisms in the universe will form all by themselves…all they need is time. The brain is more complex that anybody has…. Click Here to Read More

Ok so I spilled some candle wax a couple times on one of my shelves and on my dresser, and it leaves nasty hardened wax residue (obviously). I scrapped it with a hobby knife and most of the big chunks came off, but there was a lot of hardened spots that looked like smeared wax on the wood. Some of the wood was torn off in the process, so now it’s even worse. What can I do? The dresser is real wood and the shelving unit I have is some sort of wood with a black sort of plastic/finish or laminite if that…. Click Here to Read More

I hit my rear bumper and don’t know the best way to get rid of the scratches on it. My car is a 2005 Jetta in which it can get expensive to replace the entire plastic bumper. It costs around $200. How much do those plastic scratch removers cost? How do you use them? I don’t have any holes in my bumper, just a lot of…. Click Here to Read More

I have a LOT of scrap wires just laying around. The ones i have stripped are solid copper or soldered copper (with tin i believe). Am i wasting my time by stripping it, or should i just leave the wiring inside of its plastic jacket? Where is a decent resale place? I also have quite a few aluminum heatsinks and older computer parts lying around for resale also….. Click Here to Read More
