I was considering doing a bunch of little raised beds for raspberries made out of scrap industrial ductwork, only I can’t find the scrap ductwork and I’m thinking of moving in a couple years. I got the idea that maybe a container would better suit my needs. What is an ideal size of container to grow fruiting raspberry bushes? There are rigid black plastic storage containers on sale at home depot right now. They’re 18 gallons at about 20 x 16 x 16 inches. Would these do the trick with one plant in each container? For years I have been using an old coffee can or plastic container to keep my daily collection of Kitchen Scraps in until I can bring it out to the Compost Pile. The problem I’m running into , (outside of the fact the it looks kinda “gross”) is that it seems I always have more scraps than the container can hold. I have fantasized about a direct “shoot” from my kitchen that would go directly outside to a larger container that could be emptied once a week.
