I have been composting for a few years now, but only since last year have I been doing above-ground composting (I used to just bury it). I have a big plastic tube-like container that is freestanding and has holes all over the sides so the compost can “breathe,” and decompose more easily. There is no bottom and no lid. I put food scraps in my compost, as well as leaves from my yard and a good amount of soil to cover the food when it is added. I live in Montana where it is pretty cold from October to March. It bled alot and didn’t stop bleeding even after I put alchohol/antibiotics(?) on it & bandaged it. The next morning I changed the bandage but it was still on the verge of bleeding –not clotting very well. The cut is about 1 inch? It’s pretty deep.. maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of an inch; on the palm/skin under the thumb.. it’s been throbbing too. I don’t know the last tetanus vaccination I got was.
