by 2 dogs Question by arthur c: Old Honda metal outboard fuel tanks. It is difficult to see much inside, but they are faily rusty outside.? Hi, I have two old Honda (20ltr) metal fuel tanks. Red with rust spots on the outside, and a metalic lustre on the inside. It is difficult to inspect the inside thoroughly. I know that plastic would be better, but it would cost £50 to replace both tanks, and I would hate to throw them away if they have years of life in them. I am tempted to simply add an in-line fuel filter and hope for the best.! Should the tanks be scrapped or cherished? Comments and advise please.
