by Coffeelatte Question by Alex (Laika): I had an unusually splinter that I have had trouble with for weeks now… Please help?!? A few weeks ago I was opening an instant coffee sachet and I was startled when I felt a pain in my thumb. Somehow I had picked up a splinter on the top left had corner on my right thumb. I could not see the splinter but I could feel it. I was very thin and transparent. I tried to remove it but I only succeeded in removing the part that was sticking out, which basically meant…. Question by LeeH: Need help starting a compost? I started composting a few weeks ago in a large plastic container. I researched and I know what I can and cannot put into the compost. It’s been fruit/veg scraps, coffee grounds, a few egg shells, some trimmings from my yard and grass cuttings so far. I’m in AZ. It’s very hot and dry (around 100 degrees F). My compost seems dry and doesn’t really look like its decomposing nicely (but it doesn’t stink and it is shrinking). *I’m wondering if the grass clippings are too dry (our burmuda grass is very coarse/rough here). Should I hold off on adding them? *Should I add any water/let rain water flow in naturally (monsoon season is starting). Or…. Click Here to Read More

I had him for a little over a year at this nice pet shop called Reef Keepers. He was kept in 1/2 gallon bowl for less than a month of his life until I got him into a nice 5 gallon tank which is filtered and even though I don’t have a heater for him, using the 10 watt light bulb and a blanket over the tank (leaving openings uncovered for oxygen intake)…. by yeetong Question by Ice: Should I seek medical help for a cut from a blade? I cut myself with a metal blade (scraper; was using it to scrap sticker off of a plastic board). It bled alot and didn’t stop bleeding even after I put alchohol/antibiotics(?) on it & bandaged it. The next morning I changed the bandage but it was still on the verge of bleeding –not clotting very well. The cut is about 1 inch? It’s pretty deep.. maybe 1/4 or 1/3 of an inch; on the palm/skin under the thumb.. it’s been throbbing too. I don’t know the last tetanus vaccination I got was. Should I be concerned & visit the hospital? or just let my body self-heal + hopefully it’ll clot & heal itself? Blade wasn’t…. Click Here to Read More
