PTFE also known as Teflon has excellent chemical, thermal, and electrical stability. It retains a high percentage of its useful properties from cryogenic to elevated temperatures -348 F to 500 F and has a very low coefficent of friction. It has the lowest critical surface enrgy of all plastics, which makes it an excellent water and oil repellent for non-stick and mold release. PTFE has an extremely low dielectric constant and dissipation factor. Excellent resistance to UV, and Ozone. Typical applications include electronic bobbins, piping material for high temperature use, spring actuated seals, gaskets, packing and valve seats.

Fluorosint 500s unique properties are the result of a proprietary process in which synthetically manufactured mica is chemically linked to PTFE. This bonding results in properties not normally attainable in reinforced PTFE. It has a continuous use temperature to 500 F. When compared to PTFE it has a higher load carrying capability, and lower coefficient of thermal expansion. Fluorosint 500 is a structural/seal grade filled with enough mica to produce a thermal expansion 15percent less than unfilled PTFE.

These porous polypropylene tubes are highly resilient, lightweight, and resistant to a broad spectrum of chemicals and reagents. The omni-directional, inter-connecting, open-celled pore structure of Porous Plastics can perform as a surface or depth filter; provide wicking of solutions by capillary action; venting or diffusing by controlled flow of gases; or act as a sterile barrier via controlled porosity and inherent tortuous path properties.
