PTFE also known as Teflon has excellent chemical, thermal, and electrical stability. It retains a high percentage of its useful properties from cryogenic to elevated temperatures -348 F to 500 F and has a very low coefficent of friction. It has the lowest critical surface enrgy of all plastics, which makes it an excellent water and oil repellent for non-stick and mold release. PTFE has an extremely low dielectric constant and dissipation factor. Excellent resistance to UV, and Ozone. Typical applications include electronic bobbins, piping material for high temperature use, spring actuated seals, gaskets, packing and valve seats.

In addition, three of these thicknesses (0.015 inches, 0.030 inches and 0.060 inches) are also available in sheets which are etched on one side to make them bondable to other materials with most general purpose epoxies. Our stock sizes are cut from rolls and the material may be slightly curved, but it can easily be flattened by applying pressure to the whole surface.

These porous polypropylene tubes are highly resilient, lightweight, and resistant to a broad spectrum of chemicals and reagents. The omni-directional, inter-connecting, open-celled pore structure of Porous Plastics can perform as a surface or depth filter; provide wicking of solutions by capillary action; venting or diffusing by controlled flow of gases; or act as a sterile barrier via controlled porosity and inherent tortuous path properties. Also used in aeration, foaming, agitation /sparging operations, and can be modified using conventional machining methods and in some cases hand tools. Porous Polypropylene tubes are steam sterilizable (autoclavable) and will withstand higher temperatures than polyethylene while exhibiting similar chemical resistance properties. Operating temperature ranges from 195-295 degree F (90-145 degree C) dependant on part geometry and stress on material

PTFE sheet (Polytetrafluoroethylene) sometimes known as Teflon has established itself as a tough, durable polymer, possessing a unique combination of electrical, chemical, mechanical and thermal properties unmatched by any other single substance. Maximum operating temperature -350 degrees to 500 degrees F. This material should not be heated to temperatures above 752 degrees F (400 degrees C). PTFE Sheet is available in a series of nine thicknesses from 0.005 inches to 0.500 inches.
