My CD rom drive stopped working a while ago (won’t eject), so I bought a replacement. (Tried everything, and there is no little manual pinhole button on mine.) I’m having trouble removing the existing drive because the plastic face parts of the computer will not come off. They seem to have little plastic tabs- one on each side. The left side pushes in and releases, but the one on the right is in a fixed position, as if it were glued in there without give. (I’m starting to believe this computer was pieced together from scraps!!) If I were able to remove the facing, how would I remove the drive? the plastic was not burned on as i caught it before it had time to burn, but there is a layer of white melted plastic from a bag & plastic container stuck to the burner element. Should i carefully heat it to soften it, then scrap off? or…. Click Here to Read More

I have a pile of scrap metal I would like to cash in for some extra money. I have been saving for a while but this is my first time cashing it in. I just aquired some steel shelving units but the steel is coated in a clear plastic. Should I remove the plastic before taking it in to scrap?
