by zen Question by Jack: DIY Greenhouse – Will This Work? I’m trying to germanate some seeds at the moment. Last night I put seeds into shot glasses (with clean, filtered water, that sat out for 24+ hours so chemicals evaporated out). Tonight I took the ones that sank and planted them. I got plastic cups (the red kind college kids drink out of) and filled them three quarters full of soil. I then planted my seeds (not very deep) and watered them. I then placed them in my DIY ‘Greenhouse.’ The house is like this: I have a plastic box with a cooking rack sitting on the bottom (so when the water drains out of the holes in the bottom of the cups, it has some space to drain into). The cups…. Click Here to Read More

I started gardening a few weeks ago and have been reading up on it and I decided to make a worm bin, starting out by taking all the fallen leaves and putting them in a pile. I then took all my kitchen scraps (nothing meat, oil or dairy) and started putting them in a bowl to have them begin rotting (I read that you should first let some of the food rot and then mix with the leaves and moisten before putting in the worms so they immediately have food and won’t be tempted to run away). Anyway I was going to wait till friday to buy a large rubbermaid bin and a pound of worms but today I was fiddling in the garden and found one red worm so grabbed a plastic shoe box and made some holes in it,…. You are out on your butt with the other 340 million Americans. There are no more cars running because the gas refineries shut down. There is no electricity because the companies did not get their shipments of coal. The grocery stores are all closed with the smell of rotting food everywhere. People are fighting over, “Hey that’s MY squirrel you idiot!” The ground is brown because everyone already picked all the grass and ate it. Other countries are sending missionaries to America with the money they have. The steel from what used to be buildings are all stolen by looters who carry a plastic bag full of metal scraps going, “I’m…. Click Here to Read More

I took a new guy shooting. I am a teacher. Right now California is $20 Billion in debt, and half the California budget is Education. So they are firing teachers left and right. In Los Angeles, school rooms are linked and you have a “room partner.” My new room partner is a very young guy (I am in my 30′s, he is 25) who is a long term sub. He never had a Dad, he was raised by a Mom only, and she hated guns. He always wanted a gun, but the closest he ever came was violent video games. I am just the opposite. My Dad had me when he was a very, very old man. The joke was his seed was “worn out,” by the time he had me, and that’s why I am gay and very small, when my Dad was huge. He had…. Although I may seem fine and put together on the outside I am actually battling a war in my head. My mind runs a hundred miles an hour I am always thinking. Everything can get so frustrating and overwhelming but I have to deal with it because what else can I do? Every day is a battle for me. I can’t finish things I start therefore I am left with multiple tasks unfinished. I get bored very easily. People may laugh and think I am making stuff up when really they have no idea. They may think they understand when really they have no flipping clue of how it really is and feels. I live with the constant battle of trying to be perfect but yet I’m so far from it. Trying to accomplish everyday…. Click Here to Read More

Hey Guys! I’m messing around trying to find out what would make a good opener for a story I’m writing, and I came up with this. I’m not sure if it’s what I need though, so a full hardcore edit isn’t what I’m looking for, more like a style overhaul. What do you think of it? What kind of mood does it set? Should I scrap it, or keep it? Thanks! Victoria, or Lacey, as her family called her, cringed against the darkness and buried her face against the pink comforter. The silence of her room was seldom interrupted by the occasional creaking of the ancient house, or the snore of one of her family members. More often she heard her older sister, Gracie, whimper. Lacey know Gracie did…. Click Here to Read More

Ok so I bought an 89 cavalier to drive around in till I got my GTP fixed. Now it’s fixed, what do I do with the cavalier? I paid $180 for it. It’s got a problem with starting, too much fuel gets into the throttle body and not enough air, and it reeks of fuel. Also the plug for the injector is covered in melted goop instead of that accordion-looking plastic piece those plugs are suppose to have. I can get a throttle body from the wrecker for $30 and wire in a not-melted plug, but will that fix the problem? It runs fine, though the oil is black as pitch and surely can’t be doing it much good. The tranny is on the way out, there was brown crud crusted on the dipstick and the fluid itself is a…. Click Here to Read More

Everyday tons of hazardous electronic waste is dumped in China and other developing countries. These wastes come from various items that we use in our everyday life; some include batteries, kitchen appliances, used computer equipment, and other worn out electronic devices. These items contain chemicals, heavy metals, dangerous pathogens, and other toxins. Many places like the U.S. or the UK have not officially banned exportation of these electronic items, and countries like China still do not enforce their rules of banning e-waste importation. China allows a city like Guiyu to collect, dissemble, and produce toxic e-waste because they are a developing country who needs the money that they…. Click Here to Read More
