Question by Randy K: What can you do with scrap polystyrene?
Having plastic model building,as a hobby, I’m left with A LOT of plastic “trees”, (what the parts are connected to, sometimes called “runners”) left over. Can these be sent to a recyclers? If so, where or who can these be sent to?

  1. pyro5050 says:

they are called sprues in most modeling circles, and the overcast from models that you scrap off usable pieces, that is called flashing or “flash”

what i normally use them for is to make diffrent pieces of terrain and such for games, or bend them using heat sources and make useful little things like picture holders or a cat toy ball that rolls erraticly…

but you can also take them to a local recycling depot and put them in with the plastic recycles,
