Energy Saving Heaters

…we were at my hubby’s uncle’s house last night feeding corn to the horses. Well about 2 weeks ago he had this rooster show up at the farm. He doesn’t have chickens but it wasn’t hurting anything so he just let it stick around the barnyard. His own grandkids have been around and it seemed to leave them alone (boys, both 9 yrs old). It followed us around pecking the corn that the horses missed. No big deal…I wondered about him attacking (a friend from work always says her rooster attacks her so she carries a plastic bat with her) But he was being fine and seemed a little scared of us. My husband says they are stupid, but I think they are smarter than we think. AS soon as I turned around (to grab another thing of corn) that damn thing attacked my son! He screamed the worst terrified scream I’ve ever heard in my life. I still keep hearing it and it’s gut-wrenching. I turned around, my husband hollers DON’T RUN! as he comes running towards us. I grabbed my son and spun around so the rooster was to my back and I was hunched over my son to protect him. I still couldn’t see where it got him, but it was attacking me at that point. It got me in the back of the calf (with his spur). My husband finally got there and kicked the bird. We looked at my son, that rooster got him from the outer corner of the eyebrow, all the way down to his top lip. Scrapped him, and it was a little bruised. Thank God he closed his eye, cuz otherwise it would have gouged his eye out. We cleaned it and made sure he could see out of it. It wasn’t really bleeding…just a bloody scrap. We got some A&D ointment on it too.
My question is, should i take him to the doctors? He’s current on his shots, he can see out of his eye, and it was only a scrap, not a cut that would need stiches. But of course I’m still a worried mom, so any advice?
Thanks to both of you for your advice. and thankfully I didn’t run, not that I could have. Did I mention I’m 6 months pregnant and was wearing flip flops? Plus my son is big for his age, 2.5 yrs old…39 inches, 40 lbs. Even if I could have gotten away from the rooster on a normal day, with all of that working against me, he would have had me!
